At SMĀϰķ, weâve always believed that who we are extends far beyond our roles at work. Every member of our team brings with them passions, stories, challenges, and creativity that make our community richer and more connected. And recently, weâve been inspired by the ways our colleagues have poured their energy into causes that matter deeply to them.
These moments remind us that the people who make SMĀϰķ special are the same people making a difference far beyond our nurseries.
Chris recently completed the Robin Hood Half Marathon - an incredible achievement in itself. But what makes it even more meaningful is the reason behind every mile he ran. Chris dedicated his race to fundraising for Footprints Conductive Education Centre, a charity that supports his son, Alfie. His determination, fuelled by love and purpose, is a powerful reminder of the strength found in community and family.
Katie is taking on an inspiring 75âmile walking challenge with her loyal dog, Duke, by her side. Together, theyâre raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, a charity close to her heart. Itâs a beautiful example of how small steps - quite literally - can create meaningful impact.
Five team members from Farley Sparsholt Outdoor Nursery School laced up their walking boots to take on an 18km trek along the Test Way. Their goal? To raise funds for the Romsey Opportunity Group, a volunteerâled organisation supporting children with additional needs and disabilities. Their commitment to championing inclusion reflects the values we hold close across SMĀϰķ.
Every one of these efforts shows the incredible heart within our team. These arenât just acts of fundraising, theyâre acts of love, empathy, and community spirit.
